Apple Releases Newer Macbook Pro's with M2 Pro and M2 Max Chips and they're.....slower than last years models?

WAIT WHAT? Did we make a typo? Apple releases Macbooks slower than last years model? Nope, you read correctly!

Apple has introduced it’s new or MacBook Pro M2 with M2 Pro and M2 max chips, And despite the price tag of starting at $2000 we were still excited to learn about what Apple introduced that was New and improved this year.

We were just as shocked as you to learn that the M2 pro model is considerably slower, up to 40% to be exact, then last year’s M1 pro base model.

To be a little bit more elaborate, the SSD on the M2 Pro chip 14 inch MacBook is slower than last years M1 Pro pro 14 inch Macbook. This is because Apple is likely using single SSD Modules, similar to the regular M2 Pro and M2 Air launched in 2022.

All in all, the M2 pro MacBooks would be a great buy for someone with an older version of MacBook. It does have a slightly better display and boast up to a 22 hour battery life. However if you already on the M1 pro MacBook then you might want to wait a little bit longer for next year’s models as you don’t have much you are missing out on.
